At Pro & Infinium rap up 9 week hunt on Florida Gulf

Did a lot of hunting, mostly dry, wet sand, wading. Best results actually came in off beach areas. So the need for both detectors.
Beach hunting on the Gulf during the winter is a challenge. First, major lack of people, so only fresh drops are from the birds.
Than common problem all around is heavy sanding of the beaches. Both on high dry sand and all the way into the wade zone. You have to study the tides, direction of wind, and affects on different beaches. So catching a good trench while wading, finding a nice cut or exposed wind blown area isn't a given right. Sounds tough but when everything lines up it's a lot of fun. It was disappointing again for gold this year. And only one Silver earing. So you gotta be happy with what ya find.
So in my time this year managed to scoop up . 648 coins, 58 of them nickels. $48.30 total. Various types of junk jewelry, sinkers, kitchen knives, forks, spoons. Hunting the pulse induction, or zero discrimination on the Pro, it was open season on tent pegs. Between 4 guys , we must have found a couple of buckets of them. Totally different type of beach hunting compared to peak season. Believe me it keeps you sharp. Be back next yr.
