I would like use my own headphones, what I would like to do is make an adapter for my own headphones from my garrett headphones. I also go into saltwater. Any help on how to go about it? I will buy an headphone adapter from garrett so I have two garrett headphone adapters,another question will the salt water ruin the garrett adapter?, im sure I will need to waterproof the adapters?, I also would like to hook up wireless adapter as well, im looking to buy underwater earbuds or water proof earbuds and somehow build it under the unit . Any help on how to go about all of this would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to use the blueheadphones. Want to make it for underwater detecting in the swimline at the beach

It's a post from me talking about how to waterproof a Tesoro and you can get info about making your own "Waterproof Headphones", you need of course to adapt the garrett connector to 'em.

Good luck with that one. Garrett will sell you the headphone adaptor but they will NOT sell you another coil connector. I know, I asked them 4 different times.

Very very cool, where did you get the cableglands/ waterproof connectors? looking into it heres the ideas ive come up with. Their are submersible earbuds, that can connect to the garrett headphone adapter, saltwater will corrode the adapters, this is what happened on another detector and would have to soak connectors in cola to get the corrosion off. Wanted to put the adapters in a small waterproof case so this wouldnt happen. To make it wireless they sell audio receivers and transmitter that turn any set of earbuds into wireless ones, but probably wont work underwater plus are not submersible. Thats where the waterproof case comes in again but need to use cable glands into and out of the waterproof container, their are ipod cases that have one connection allready for earbuds but would still have to use a cablegland for entry. Their are also mp3 cases that fit onto mask with waterproof earbuds but not sure if the receiver will fit inside the case that might actually work underwater but probably not that good so hardwired for going underwater looks to be the only way and for dry hunting can still use the transmitter dongle and any sport bluetooth headphones. Probably gonna make two sets from the garrett adapters one for dry hunting and one for saltwater and instead of the waterproof container just gonna silicone the connectors so they dont corrode
