AT Pro headphone cord

Anyone else think the AT Pro headphone cord is too short? I've used it for several hour each of two days and find it irritatingly short. I mean, I'm only 5'6" and think so. I'd like to at least be able to set it down without removing the headphones. Is there a fix for this problem?

I;m only 5'4 never had that problem

Maybe I have a pair made too short. How long is the cord supposed to be?

You bet it's too short! I'm 6' 2", put on my line men's boots and I'm dang near 6' 4". I bought Sun Rays from Bart, longer cord that allows me to stand then pick up my Pro. Love the CTX being wireless!

[size=large]like many others your complaint was expressed at the outset of the machine. one of a few flaws many thought Garrett should have known better about. thought is they knew and decided it was a way to sell another pair of headsets that did fit better or the adapter so you could use a better set. either way Garrett R&D should have noticed this flaw. unless all their R&D people are short.i'm 5'3" so i don't have the problem but my hunting buddy did. he is over 6'.

It isn't a problem unless you need to set the machine down. Strange the Pro is so short. The phones I use,Garrett's, for the ACE 350 are sometimes too long.

I'm worried about the cord deteoriating and shorting out and quit working. The spriol shape on my cable is straightening out

I pull my straighter to get a little more length. So far it returns to it's spiral shape. If they give out I'll have to invest in the adapter or wireless phones.

I'm over six feet so the short cable is a problem for me I simply put a female 1/4" headphone jack on the about the first eight inchs by the detector end and then put a male end on the phones cord.Sears sells the extension cables for the headphones I got the 25 foot ones for $3.50 , I know your thinking man thats long but they are measured with every little coils so the stock are considerd to be like 12 feet .And they are too short.I then wrap it ,once at my belt and connect it , the extra is wrapped at my tector shaft and secured with one wrap velcro it a fantastic setup with plenty of adjustment to set to your own likeing. If you could get the extension in the 18 feet range I think that would be the ultimate one to use.

I don't clip the cord in the arm clip and I put the cord over my forearm and that gives me about a foot longer cord. That allows me to set detector down to recover.

Thats a good idea not mounting the headphone cord underneath the arm-rest especially when using the stock headset, what I did was remount the clip underneath the control housing. This gives me more lenght and safety secures the headphone cord, And used a pair of pliers to gentle squeeze the clip so the cord is snug.

Here's a pic, it may be the solution tall users need

Works for me
