AT Pro headphone adapter ..

I installed the headphone adapter on my AT this afternoon. And honestly I'm not all that impressed with how the adapter itself slides back and forth in it's holder underneath the arm cuff. Also, my Grey Ghost headphones don't sound all that great plugged into it either, which is what I was hoping to use. There is no bass end to the sound, which is important when listening to the iron grunts. I ended up throwing my old pair of Garrett Easy-Stow headphones on there, and they sound OK. Anybody have a remedy for keeping the jack from sliding back and forth? Or did they make it that way intentionally?

I found that out myself on the adapter clip. For now it's not to bad, but I figure to get some king of metal clamp like Garretts plastic one and secure it tighter. I like the sound of my Gray Ghost better on the AT PRO rather than on my MXT. JMO

I got one so I could use my Sunray Pros when I didn't need the optional waterproof headphones I picked up. Having all that extra cord hanging just gets in the way and it's such a pain in the butt to swap them out I'm just going to leave waterproof ones on all the time. It's nice to to have redundant back-ups anyway.

My adapter under the cuff was doing the same thing. The plastic clamp thing was not holding it tight and it was loosening the screw that holds the clamp to the lower cuff. I tried to keep that screw tightened but last weekend the screw fell out while I was hunting and I lost it. I used some electrical tape to hold everything in place to finish out the day. When I got home I found that what was wrong was that when using the original screw that was on the cuff it seemed to be too short to make a solid grip up into the top part of the cuff. I found a slightly longer screw and it held the two cuff pieces as well as the clamp thing tightly in a 6 hour hunt today. Looks like my problem is solved. I did put a small piece of electrical tape over the screw head to help keep it from turning in the future.

Good Hunting

I have come to the conclusion that the adapter is nice to have just in case I needed to use another pair with the 1/4" jack. But I think I'm going to stick with the stock headphones for now. They give me the best sound for the AT Pro ..

I bought the adapter a few months back and was so unimpressed with it that I took it off and went back to the stock headphones. I was expecting something better for the money. Oh well.

ML .... that is my thought exactly. I think that $20 or $25 would have been more reasonable ... not the $37 that I paid. But, I was happy to give a Findmall sponsor the buisness though ... Oh well is right.
