AT Pro Headphone Adapter Troubles

Has anyone besides me had troubles with the Headphone Adapter sold as an accessory for the AT Pro/Gold? My Wireless headphones have very little volume when I try them..I was told by Garrett that the headphones have to be a certain impedance range...Has anyone made an adapter cord or anything to overcome this problem? If so, would you mind PMing me with your solution?

Thanks,

I have not had any trouble with my headphone adapter using any of the Garrett headphones. However I did build up a couple sets of headphones with higher impedance's and got the poor results with low audio on the At Pro and adapter. The same phones work great on every other detector I have, and lower impedance headphones work great with the adapter so I am sure it is an impedance issue with your wireless adapter.

Sorry I cant be of more help.

Jerry

G G G you need the headphone extention cable with the volume control (see pics )

you will also need a 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch headphone adapter plug.

Hope this helps.

Place it all into a small plastic box, add a plastic pipe clip same size as the A T Pro top shaft

and your good to go

Ok Les...Is that just a extension cable, or is it powered (takes batteries for an amplifier)?

HH,

It's just a headphone extention cable with a volume control (not powered ) any elecrtical store /gadget shop sell them.

for a few Pounds ( Bucks ) The cable must have a volume control in line in order for the Wireless Phones to work.

The cable should look something like the pic below, the box is the volume control with a small volume ajustment wheel.

My only quibble with the adapter is that once in awhile it switches over to the speaker, but I just nudge the connector to the box and it reverts to headphone

I would think that the AT pro is MONO audio, only having 2 pins...That would make me think that some Stereo plugs might not full close/open the circuit for the speaker...This was my case and I bought a 1/4" MONO to 1/8" stereo adapter and solved that problem.
