At pro ground balance and depth

Does anyone know how ground balance effects depth? And if so what ground balance numbers give you weak depth results while detecting?

Ground balance "affects depth" only in that if you are not properly ground balanced you will have a lack of depth due to the detector picking up the minerals in the ground. The numbers just really give you an idea of how mineralized the ground is in the area you have ground balanced your detector and theoretically it should get the same depth no matter what the "numbers" because the detector is balanced so that the ground minerals do not affect detection of other metals. Hope this helps and is not confusing. This is the way that I understand it and the best way that I could explain it. HH

It you positive ground balance a unit by a few #'s it will hit lower conductors a bit better. Negative GB a unit, It will hit higher conductors a bit better. So yes, improper GB can effect your depth.
