Wish Garrett had put a display light in the at pro if it's all terrain should have a light ! I wonder if it's possible to get one put in sucks when it gets dark early and you can't see the display or night hunting (beach)

I ran my at pro last night, couldn't see the face but had no problems figuring out I had a coin under the coil.I usto think the same, wish it had a backlight. Not anymore, I just dig coins

I agree 100% with the need for a lighted display. Not sure how much they saved by not including that feature (maybe $5), but it would be a real improvement for me. I will not purchase a new Detector without a Back-lit display. I keep my fingers crossed that Garrett will provide another update to the AT Pro. This update could include a back-lit display as well as strengthen the attachment area where the Control Box attaches to the Rod. In MY opinion, those are two areas that could/should be improved.

If Garrett does not add a back-lit display, I will continue to hold out and see if Nokta or Makro release a weatherproof or waterproof detector (only to about 10 feet depth).

I live in SW Florida and for 6 months of the year we get heavy rain during portions of the day. I will not have a Detector that must be kept dry or covered, etc.

A lit back light would be great if you could turn it on and of to save the battery life

I know it's possible to have it on all the time and still get great battery life. The F75 uses the same batteries as the ATpro and runs much longer on a set of batteries. An ATP with a large screen, backlight, and more robust control box mounting would be fantastic!
