AT Pro continues to amaze, testerdays hunt

After my usual Sat. morn. breakfast of some breakfast tacos with plenty of HOT salsa slathered on, it was off to Buzzard Gulch for a morning of stumbling and bumbling while implementing the Blind Hog Grid Method. I had just arrived an gotten the AT geared up and had a couple of keepers in my pouch when Snoop and his wife showed up and introductions were made. Mrs. Snoop had to work, so couldn't join in on the hunt.
Here's the area we were trying to plunder!!

Well, the Blind Hog Grid method was working well for me, but Snoop seemed to be busy clearing out the ringtabs and lead weights with his AT. Meanwhile, I got a fair amount of goodies and some were nice keepers.

Here's the loot for the day!!

I got a nice little silver Avery ring, a junker ring and what I think is a mangled half dime (it's the little thing in the lower right corner)
And the trash removed from the lakebed!!!

Here's the rings after a heck of a time getting the crud off!!

and a couple of shots of the front and back of the supposed half dime.

It looks like the poor thing was beat on by someone trying to make a ring. I had to take a nylon jewelers mallet and pound it down flat as it was bent like a tiny taco. I can read "States of America" around one side and an "A" in the middle of the coin, right where it should be. All I can make out on the other side are the stars, even using a 10x loupe. It almost weighs enough, off by .04 grams, but I give that to the hole.
All in all, it was a good hunt, nice weather and just great to not be sitting in my office behind a computer screen. The AT continues to amaze and I'm sure even more great finds are ahead for everyone when the good weather comes around for every one!! Good hunting and goodbye!!

Good hunt and lots of targets that you found.
Those Two rings could have been gold !

you did well,wtg

BCD what settings do you use on the AT PRO ?

Question, I will look around and see if I can find the meaning of Blind Hog Grid method, but just in case I can't please discribe.

Thanks,

It's the ATP, nothing I'm doing I don't think. I can't wait till that White Mold melts off up there and see what YOU come up with when you can actually dig in some dirt. The At is simply hands-down the best detector I've ever used. I dug a quarter Saturday, and Snoop can verify this as he was standing right there watching, that had not one but two large screws over it and the AT still gave me a nice high tone. When I dug the first one out I thought I had been fooled by the iron, thought the same thing when the second one surfaced. But a recheck of the hole and the high tone was still there....Whoa Nelly!! We also did some checking on some gold targets I had with me. I used 5 gold rings and a real thin gold chain and let Snoop swing over them. The rings hit nice and all up and down the mid tone range but the thin gold chain....nada, nothing, no way. I even clumped it up for him, not a peep. This was in Pro Mode. In Standard mode, he didn't get a signal on some of the gold rings. I've never tried the STD mode, so I had no idea.

I'm running Pro mode, Zero Disc, Sens. 5 bars, Iron disc at 35. Works for me in our soil here. I tried the wide open approach and the AT became so unstable it was almost unusuable.

It's pretty simple!! Turn on your detector, set and adjust to your likes. Next, look around and visualize where a good target might be..if you were one. Then, put your head down and follow your snout!!
