AT Pro comparison question

Johnny Cache

New member
I love my GTAX 550, but I have been seriously thinking about getting a Minelab E-trac. BUT now that I have seen the new AT Pro, I'm very curious. It looks like a cool machine, and the price is great. Does anybody have any idea how the AT Pro would compare to the E-trac? I am trying to learn about the technology involved with detectors, but it's a lot to grasp. Any thoughts?

Here's a link to KellyCo's comparison chart.:wiggle:Hope this helps:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

:usaflag:Well....price for one thing. And the number of frequencies. And I'm sure the E-Trac has a much bigger learning curve.

I don't think that the two are even in the same league.

But the AT Pro is much more user-friendly I'm sure.

AT Pro works as good in water as it does on land. The E-trac is cofined to land. The AT Pro is not near as heavy as the E-trac. And look at the cost factor and warranty.

Good luck with whatever machine you get. :)

Ugh...I think I'm going to have to go with the AT Pro. I have been using my brother's Teknetics Gamma 6000 while my 550 is being repaired. I really miss the Garrett, and don't think I want any other brand.

I currently have a closet full of metal detectors. When the weather is nice I take out either the 1350 or the Ace 250. I also have other metal detectors I use when it gets hot, I go into the water to cool off. I also take one of those metal detectors with me into the water as I wade in the water metal detecting.
After the AT Pro hits the market and does well, I think I might have a couple of metal detectors. One for the water and the land. The other for a back up. My closet will be Almost EMPTY...
