AT Pro Coins or Metal Mode?

With my AT Pro with Pro Mode set, and disc @35 for either Coins or Metal setting, seems I get the same responses. Am I missing something here?
The disc set @35 for both settings since areas in question have lots of junk. Should I just stick with coins or go with metal?

I personally use the Pro Zero mode with 0 discrimination. Call me nuts but I like listening to the iron. I never use the iron audio feature, I always keep it off. If I end up in an iron infested area where I know there are goodies, I slow my swings waaaaay down.
