At Pro coinhunters edition

Was just thinking what I would like to see in the way of a coinhunting machine building off the AT Pro.

Backlight - for those beach hunts on hot summer nights
Adjustable volume
Last mode - like on the 1350 so you dont have to toggle throuh all modes.
larger TID numbers
The arm cup shaft length for an adult sized person......:)
Cam locks
Different tone between nickel and zinc penny
vco pinpointing
$499 price tag......

Whats bad is...they know all this....I hesitant about buying the AT for that reason. I want to know if they are gonna come out with a coin hunter with the AT audio, waterproofing, maybe imaging? and all the other good stuff you mentioned for say 799? Be a good competitor against the MXT Pro. Id buy it!

I forgot about imaging too. I was wrong, the nickel and zinc do have different tones. It would be nice to have from foil to nickel one tone, then nickel a different tone, everything from nickel to zinc another and then high tone for the rest. I guess that would be 4 tones. Can you imagine all those features packed into one machine. It would be awesome.......;o)

I wrote this in another forum an figured I would share it here. I wanted to start a new thread about a new Garrett High end unit. I figured maybe I should wait for someone else to initiate the conversation.

It appears that Garrett has another machine coming soon.
I predict a machine that crosses a Grand Master Hunter( in name at least) and the GTI series in a new light weight package perhaps like an AT-Pro. I would love it to be an at least dual frequency machine which would most likely result in a true top notch beach performer and and inland hot ground machine. I feel in order to get true good beach performance a machine must either be a PI or at least dual frequency. I remember when the Fisher CZ series came out and it was one of the first VLF machines to give top notch beach results. Then came the other CZ machines, the Sovereigns, Excalibur's, DFX, V3, Explorers, Safari, and E-Trac. All multi frequency machines with real good beach performance. Beach detecting is not everything and I feel that Garrett needs a multi frequency machine to also assist in inland hot ground and other soil challenging areas. Perhaps these multi frequency machines use the combination of the processor and one of the frequencies to deal with the ground better than a single frequency machine. The trick is to make a machine that has multi frequency performance without the target recovery lag of some of the machines that use more than several frequencies.
I have a feeling that Garrett's new machine may have a hand grip that blends into the meter like the Grand Master series in addition with the light weight of the AT-PRO or Ace series. The 8 AA battery machines slowly are being pushed aside.

That sounds like a good machine Bill.

You want a coinhunter and a gold hunter all in one ? ....You have that with the AT Pro ......You have a manual ground balance that you can set to whatever you like ..... You want high conductor coins , you can G. Balance the machine LOW .....You want Gold and lower conductors , you can ground balance the machine HIGH ....It just might surprise you !!..... I had a small pair of my wifes earings that was not hitting all that well on my previous ground balance that was up around 82 .....They hit , but not well ....I ran the balance all the way up and the earings hit MUCH better !!..... I can see I'm going to riding this Ground Balance a lot on this machine .... Just one more feature that makes this a nice little machine ...Jim

But expanded tone/vid range, with imaging and a backlight AND waterproofing would be cool. And all the other little things, do point out what they're planning to do...you know they will...
