AT Pro coils

Going to ask a Dumb Question ? Reading on the Garrett site on Coils for the AT Pro some state as DD Fully Submersiable coil and then the Concentric coil Is the concentric coil not submersiable I recently bought a AT Pro and going to get the 5x8 DD and a 6x9 concentric it has the large coil DD on it from what I understand !!!

The concentric coil is also submersible. I believe it has the large DD coil with it. Not sure which special you ordered.?

The AT Pro, normally, comes with the 8.5"x11" DD coil. Most packages come with the smaller 5"x8" coil. I wouldn't even spend the money for a concentric of that size. There wouldn't be any real benefit over the 5x8DD. The 4.5" super snipper may be helpful in a super trashy area. The larger 9"x12" concentric may give you a small amount of added depth over the smaller DD, but not a lot.

"One coil fits all" or "one all-around coil does the job" is great for some. The 5X8 DD certainly fits the description. I kind of figured the AT in AT Pro stands for All Terrain. It is kind of nice Garrett has available a total of 5 different coils for the AT Pro which enhances the machine for different conditions and at different sites. I would think there would be some applications where a concentric coil would have an advantage over DD coils. If I wanted to cover more ground quickly, the concentric would be the coil of choice. Summertime recreating is coming up quickly. I got my concentric coil for those fresh water lake and river beaches. I'll sacrifice the depth to get the coverage I am looking for. It might be considered niched hunting, but I know Garrett and the AT Pro got me covered. Happy hunting
