AT PRO COIL

Gee, you really can't go wrong with either, both stock coils are nice and I think it's a personal choice,

My go-to favorite for all around detecting.is the 5" x 8". It works great for isolation in trashy areas and is noticeably lighter (less fatiguing than the larger), and depth is perfectly adequate (for my needs). I just generally find it more fun to use.

The 8.5" x 11" does get a little better depth and gets you faster coverage in open fields or woods where trash is not an issue. I still find it noticeably heaver and sometimes tougher to get into tight spaces.

I still have a sniper on the old ACE 250 thinking it would be good for the playgrounds and close to fences, etc. To my surprise, I very rarely use the sniper because the 5" x 8" on AT Pro does such a nice job once you get the hang of using it.

If you go for the 11in x 8.5in then keep the coil cover away from the surface or rocks stones and things , yesterday I killed my coil cover on a stony beach in 2 to 3 hours of searching , first time out with it , not impressed with that.
Machine isn't bad though.

Somewhat depends on where you you are hunting. As a turf hunter, I personally find I need two coils. A smaller (5x:geek: for the heavy trash and the 11" for less trashy spots. The 11", of course is deeper, so that comes into play, too. HH jim tn

Either the 5 x 8 DD or the 9 x 12 concentric coil. Small coil for relic hunting in the woods and 9 x 12 for general coin/jewelry hunting, as it covers a large area quicker. The 5 x 8 is deep and very sensitive to tiny targets.
