AT Pro Bugs?!?

I've seen a number of people commenting about "bugs" that the AT Pro has. Was wondering what kind of bugs they're referring to, and if those things ARE worked out, it's not like you can just plug the AT Pro into your computer with a USB cable and do a firmware upgrade or anything, is it?

I think the main bug was an issue with falsing when the coil made a twisting action. I talked to the guys at Kellyco, and they say the bugs are all worked out. I think I'm about to spend the money on one. I don't think they can be linked to your computer for upgrades though.

If you follow this forum back to it's start a few months ago and then the Garrett Users forum back til about December you will get a pretty complete accounting of the reporting of problems people have had.

I'll do that, thank you Jerry and Darren.

The AT-Pro is a great machine. I purposely waited until April to buy and after chatting with my dealer, who promised my detector was new (newer), I wound up with an older unit. Read my post titled Saturday hunt to see what issues I had. Basically it was not saving settings. I did not have the falsing issue. When I first got it I was not having the issues, BTW, and even after they popped up I still found just as many coins. My phone call to Garrett was brief. After the rep took the serial number she said there had been several software upgrades since it was shipped from the factory. I could have continued to use it as it was but because it was brand new I wanted it perfect. I expect it back any day now.

No perfect unit or for that matter perfect detectorists and all new units have a bug or two to work out but Garrett seems to have the issue well in hand and as always builds good units with excellent service after the sale...

I believe the above poster is correct and Garrett has dealt with the bugs. Let me know when you are ready to order and I'll give you a forum member special :) But no matter what, Happy Hunting!!
