The colonial coin you found is a 1787 Vermont Ryder 13. It was made at the Machin's Mills mint just north of Newburgh, NY. The reverse die had been used earlier on several different varieties of Machin's Mills counterfeit British half pence. Your piece was probably made late 1789 or 1790. Nice find!
 
The Massachusetts item is a watch fob. Great finds!
