AT pro Batteries

Well sort of....the AT pro and AT Gold don't use 9 volt batteries, but the Garrett Scorpion does. I have used good quality rechargeable 9 Volt batteries in the Garrett Scorpion. But getting back to the AT Pro. It does accept rechargeable 4 x "AA" batteries.

Yes its true... ATPro use "AA" X 4...
 
Do NOT be alarmed if you fully charge your NiMo AAs and only get 3 battery bars when you install them...4 Alkaline AAs= 6 Volts...4 NiMo AAs= 4.8 - 5.2 Volts...
The NiMos are OK for short hunts, but if your out a lot....Alkaline or even Lithium batteries are your best best...I get about 18 hours out of rechargeables, and 25 hours out of Alkalines...I get 32 hours out of Lithiums.

I got the AT pro about 1 month ago and never looked at the batteries. Been out with it a couple of times and I like it.

I kept track of my battery life for several hunts with NiMH LSD rechargables and alkalines.

In my unit, with iron audio on, I get significantly longer usage from LSD rechargables than alkalines.
 
Now you got me thinking sonnydigs...You might be onto something there...at 6V, and low amperage, I wonder how large of a cell it would take???

I also switched to LSD (low self discharge) rechargeables, and seem to get about half again as many hours of hunting out of them as I did with Duracell/Energizers. I'm using the 2000 mah Sanyo Eneloops (rated 1500 charges), 2100 mah Sony CycleEnergy (rated 1000 recharges), and 2000 mah Tenergy (lower priced Chinese made, rated 1500 recharges). I got the Sonys with their charger, which is a pretty good mid-level one (BCG-34HLD) that lets you charge any number of batteries in any combination of AAs and AAAs. I'll let you know in about ten years which ones work out the best :rofl:
