AT Pro/AT Gold iron disc

Thinking about picking up a AT Gold. Wondering if it performs as well as the Pro in iron infested sites or is one better than the other? I've read that the AT Gold is deeper which is good...but I want to make sure it performs just as good in heavy iron?

Hi speedbug, I have both, the pro and the gold and I prefer the gold in heavy iron, the target separation is incredible. The pro is no slouch either, but if you go with the pro the smaller DD coil 5x8 is a must have.

Thanks for the reply, helps out a lot!!

It will perform just as good as the AT Pro, and you can squeeze out a little more depth in the true all metal mode.

I've got both and agree with John and Butch - the AT Gold with 5" x 8" coil is amazing in iron and trashy areas. I've pulled keepers out of the middle of old tin can dumps with it, and if you decide to do some prospecting, you'll have a great machine for that, too.

Thanks for the input guys, got one on the way!!

Well damn, all I got is the 'Pro with the stock coil...(walking off with head down and sobbing)... Oh wait! That big coil sure covers a beach in a hurry! What a great all around machine for every situation!

The 5x8 coil is OUTSTANDING. The descrim works very well on both machines! Feel free to give me a call with questions on both. I have many hours on both. Love to help and make you a great deal!

I use the 5x8 as my primary coil, I really like. Bought it from Bart along with a few other accessories, sniper, lesche, lower rod. Good guy to work with, good prices.
