At pro and iron audio - Video

Wanted to play around with the iron audio today and see if I could pick any good targets out of the iron. I don't know why but when I upload them to youtube it seems to chop off the last couple minutes or the video. So the video will just end before it should.

Bill, I have only had my AT out once to a similar spot and your video demostrates how good this detector is in iron. I posted my thoughts earlier this week and almost all of the coins had iron in the same hole. I do believe to get the most out of this detector you have to listen to a whole lot of noise. Many people will get tired of the constant chirping and iron burbs, but that is music to my ears. Great job! R.L.

Thanks. I don't mind listening to all the noise at places like this because I know there are many targets there that are missed by others because of the masking that is going on. If you just take your time and go real slow through all the iron you will be able to pick out the good targets. The sound may only be a small blip here or there but in this type area I dig anything that even makes something close to a good sound.........:)

Questions: In Pro Mode, Zero, can you set the iron discrimination to eliminate the audio response on the small nails without compromising the audio response on the non-ferrous targets? With Iron Audio set to off, targets that ID below the iron setting should be silenced...will the AT Pro still unmask the good targets?

With Iron Audio ON, the AT Pro will sound off on all targets...in heavy iron or nail pits, this type of hunting would seem to be mentally fatiguing. Your demonstration shows how noisy hunting can be in such an environment, but proves that good targets can be acquired. I'm not sure I could handle that much noise for too long.

Thanks for the video Bill...very instructive.

Someone else can chime in too if I'm wrong. Yes to the first question. Yes to number two, but they may only be a blip here and there or partial sound on real badly masked ones. With the iron audio turned off the detector will run pretty quiet but then on some targets you may just get a one way signal or something thats jumping all over and write it off as junk. With the iron audio on I then know it could be a partially masked target and not just junk.

I kind of use the iron audio like the null on the etrac if that makes sense........

Believe me I don't hunt this way all the time. It is only at sites like this where I know there is a lot or rusty iron in the ground that I use it like this.

I had a lot more video from this site but for some reason youtube cuts off parts of the video. I will work on the longer version and see if I can get it to upload all of the video.

I will Bart. It just takes time to edit and upload. I will see what I can do later on today and try to get a lot of the footage included.

I was using pro custom with 40 iron disc and everything notched out except zinc and above running with the iron audio on. Seemed to work for me..........:)

Ok first off i only have about 6 hours on my at pro or any machine for that matter but here's what ive done and it is working for me. I hunted a old farm house today. Started out in pro mode coin, after digging about 100 nails i put on head phones. Ok set at to pro custom 40 disc, iron on . Lots of chatter but if i took my time. Found and 1965 quarter under about 10 nails and a broken aluminum arrow about 10 inches deep, lots of jar lids and junk. Don't know if that helps but was working for me. Love the at pro as mush as it love to hunt.

Thanks for taking the time to video the hunt and help us newbies with this great machine i appreciate it Joe.

These are the kinds of videos that show what these detectors can do. Thanks again for making a great video..............:clapping::garrett:

Thanks guys for all the good comments. Its kind of a pain to make them but if it helps someone out I guess they are worth it....:)
