AT Pro and headphones

How many of you who purchased the AT Pro opted for the waterproof headphones? If you didn't, why? Just seems that those are the headphones Garrett should have provided in the first place.

I had Clyde rig me up a set of Gey Ghosts when I bought my AT from him. Much better sound quality and since I'm mostly a sound hunter, it was a no-brainer for me. As for why they went with the land 'phones---price out the door. If they had added the UW phones you would have probably paid an extra $100 for that AT.

they have no volume control..........i for 1 would have to pad them with something to use.

remember......the atpro has no volume control............

lots of us have removed the plug from the garrett land phones and added our own..............go back a month or so and u will see many posts regarding it

I have a adaptor rigged up for my Killer Bee's better sound, but will have to use the Garretts when it comes time to hit the water. I will be using the land phones in the water. Can't see paying bucks for something I don't really need. I don't go underwater.

I bought the waterproof head phones in addition to the standard set , because I don't want to have to worry about falling while I'm water hunting, and I plan to do a bunch of it. I spent 10 days in England hunting last fall. It rained 6 days out of 10 and I'm going back this fall. I haven't tried them out yet, and may have to muffle them because of the lack of volume control. If I knew that I wasn't going to do any water hunting, I would add an extension so I could stand up and not jerk the headphones off my head, and I'm only 5'10" tall. I don't really have have another problem with t he standard head phones. Skip

I'm not to impressed with the original set that comes with the detector, the little wire used for adjusting them doesn't hold the ear-cuff in place
and causes the padded head strap to raise up off the top of my head. Only solution might to bend the little wire to keep them in place and hope
it doesn't break or purchase or make your own adapter in order to use any other headphones.
