AT Pro and deep coins.

I have looked at many videos of the AT PRO and digging up the finds. Even in the 7 training videos it seem that most of the targets are quite shallow. I have cheaper detectors that will find coins to 6 or 7 inches and don't know if the expense of the AT pro can be justified if it won't find coins to 8 or 9 inches. Do any of you AT Pro owners have any video evidence of coin finds at 8 to 9 inches. If so, the price can be justified in my mind. Thanks in advance.

Hi Coinseeker 78:

Do you have any video evidence that shows your cheap machine finding coins at 6 - 7"? If so, please share same because I might like to buy one.

How far does your MXT find dimes? I know that isn't a cheap detector. We have alot of honest people of here, so I believe they do find dimes to 8". I myself have found one at 7". But someone people who detect are like fishermen .. they stretch the true.
I used a MXT for 5 years and it is a great machine, but I like the ATPro better.

Good luck and HH

I regularly find pennies and dimes up to 8 inches and occasionally more...I plan on shooting a lot of Video come this Spring...
Too cold for the Camera here right now...
The AT is more than capable...It is the truth that most finds will be in the 4-5" range, but even 10" coins are not beyond the AT...Especially in clean ground with the large concentric or large DD coils...
It all depends on your ground, Ground Balance, and skill of the user...

HH,

I dug have dug many coins deeper than the length of the pro pointer. I dug a merc dime at every bit of 10 inches once. I hunt with buddies who use minelab explorers, Mxt pro's, Vx3i's, and I have YET to not hear a target they though was deeper than my AT PRO would stretch....

I am sorry but I do not video any of my digs but just photograph them after the find. I am trying to find a way to make it easy to video my digs when hunting by myself. I need to get a lighter tripod because the one I have is a professional one and quite heavy. My cheaper detector is a Titan 3000XD and finds coins at 6 to 8 inches regularly. I used it for years before I bought my Explorer SE Whites MXT and Fisher F70. I got rid of the Explorer SE because of my severe Arthritis. I tried the swingy thingy with it but did not like it. I will try to video some deep digs with my camera in the future. However you can fake the scene and it would still not prove anything. I am a truthful person and do not lie. My soil here in Indiana is quite mild and easy to detect in. .The Titan has a good ground balance adjustment and I usually hunt in all metal and as high a sensitivity as I can use. Thank you for your question.

There are mounts that will let you put your camera right on your rods and shoot as your swinging...I find these videos a little wierd...I have also seen some guys use helmet cams...These vids are better, but most of these cams are expensive...
I plan on using a tripod and pointing it in the direction I am hunting, then gathering it up and shooting close when I find something...

HH,

I have found deep coins with my At Pro. I had a dime at 10in but I will say it was soft sandy soil and my uncle was their and he asked it I was digging to China..
