At Pro and big gold band

Hey everyone I've been busy lately and haven't posted much. On Dec. 11th it warmed up a little and got to go to the old football field again. This time I decided to try something different. I have hunted this many times but mostly concentrated around where the bleachers and concession stand used to be. This time I decided to make a pass down the center of the field, goal post to goal post. Made first pass and pulled 2 wheats, 41 and 50.and trash. On the return pass about 6 feet beside the first. Pulled trash, a 42 wheat, a 42 quarter and this big 14k gold ring. It was about 5 inches deep and when I first saw it I thought it was a ball bearing because it was so wide it looked round. The I saw the hole was plugged with dirt and when I pushed it out I saw 14k, I about crapped. I immediatley took photos of it with my cell phone(sorry not best quality). I took better photos at home with the other finds. It rang up 68 and 69 on the At Pro, it weighs 7.6 grams. I can't imagine someone wanting to wear a ring that wide. It has a slight dent on one edge, possibly from being run over by a mower or football player. It looks to be about a size 6 or so, must be a womans ring. I checked my four 14k found rings and they were from 45 to 70 VDI. The white gold with diamonds rang in to lowest with 45-46 and the highest was the thick yellew gold band, Makes you really want to dig those "trash" targets. I know I have really increased digging them and not being so quick to dismiss as trash.

Awesome ring find! If only my 69's would be rings and not junk.

very nice congrats!

Great find! Thanks for sharing your technique for finding it. There's a few football fields near me and I've often wondered where I should start searching on them.

Congratulations! Hope you find a few more in the old field!

Congrats on the ring.

What you said about wanting to dig all those junk signals is somewhat subjective. If your in a football or baseball or soccer field or playground totlot area or beach then yes because you stand with better odds a chance of finding jewelery. But if it was a park or woods or something like that then I would say no as the odds aren't there as good. So you have to put some thought into what your hunting for and where to put the odds on your side before I would dig all the junk signals unless you don't have many areas to detect and lots of time to do so.
