Found these today on a site that has Civil war history and has been a VFW site for 40++ years. The trigger guard last three letters says "**ion 45" The medal says sterling on the back and has pins for securing to a jacket. Any ideas?? thanks DDigger
The gun parts are from a Nichols cap pistol called the Stallion 45 from the 40's or 50's. It was a copy of a Peacemaker that had a 2 piece bullet and smoke came out the barrel when it was fired. It was made in Pasadena Texas. check out this website for more info. www.nicholscapguns.com
You can tell it was made from pot metal and obviously not a real gun. Cool find though.
