AT Pro air tests standardization?

Alimo88

New member
Very much looking forward to seeing some test done on this new baby. Alas if they are all done under circumstances it will be hard to draw too many conclusions.
with the air tests that have been done (Thanks) the results are no even that close. Maybe a set of standards would be helpful?
like Pro mode, All metal, a certain GB point? suggestions more than welcome.
Oh and test on a few "SI" items like certain American coins that we all have access to?

Air tests are affected by the noise in the location of the test. I am fortunate that I have a very quiet location, away from most magnetic noise. I do a lot of experimenting and building. Below is the test rig I made for air testing. The coil shown is 8 inch diameter and tests out at well over 12 inches but only after shutting off all sources for outside interference. The converter in my travel trailer parked nearby was a big offender and made a good two inch difference in the tests.

My point is that air tests are useful but need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Hope this helps.

Jerry
