AT Pro/9" x 12" Coil Does Soccer Field-All Of It-Here's The Good The Bad & The Ugly.....:detecting:

Spent the afternoon hunting a medium size soccer field. It was a case of back and forth, back and forth, back and forth until I reached the other goal posts. I was using my favorite coil, the 9" x 12" coil, and it performed flawlessly. I really like how it quickly and accurately pinpoints too.

I did manage one cheap ring, and a couple of pins from the same sponsor 9 years apart. what are the chances of that?

Good description of the "Garret Coil Slide," used in pinpointing.
The outer section is the transmit coil and the inner the receive coil... so when you pass the target with the inner coil the signal disappears. So long as you have some movement of the coil over the target while in discriminate mode, this works great. But you cannot hover the coil - it requires motion.

As for the sponsorship tokens and the odds - well, don't bother with a lottery ticket this week. You just used up your allotment of luck.

Probably.
In time, I will let the burn I received from the local authorities pass. I have already begun to formulate a plan for re-emerging as a New Age detectorist.

Meanwhile, I am into the other kind of fishing - the water kind! Man I love to catch a nice fish on the hook....

Why the concentric and not the DD? I really like the DD a bunch. I'd love to hear why I need another coil!
