AT MAX is not an AT PRO or AT GOLD or even an XP DEUS.

Hi
I rarely post, but thought I'd put in my 2 cents today. I'm like everyone else, still learning how the MAX works. I watch videos and read forums looking for ideas.
The max is noisey at times but it seems to reach down and pull stuff up out of the iron. The vdi is not as stable as some other machines ive owned but i think that is because it's just tearing up the ground searching. The MAX is not a souped up anything. And when people compare it to an xp deus and say the xp can detect a dime three inches deeper, for twice the price i would hope i could gain 3 inches. Like alll good detectors you have to put time in on the and learn its language. I know I'm still learning the max. The MAX is the MAX.

And it's a great machine. And you're correct, it has a knack for pulling up the goodies in iron. It also works at the beach. The problem is people won't take the time to learn how to use the manual ground balance and threshold in conjunction with the sensitivity. I can make it not false at all on the beach.

Kajunman, can you give a rundown on exactly what you do so it won't false on the beach? Thanks beforehand.

Check out one of Garrett's videos which show you some tricks to stabilize the MAX in salt water environments.
