AT MAX / Garrett Sniper Coil

buzzoff

New member
At a Tot lot today with Sniper coil on the AT MAX, why were all clad coins (pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters) showing on the vid as 52?

Your post prompted me to install the sniper coil on my Max for the first time. Here are the results: Quarter 86-87, Dime 81, Nickel 52, Penny copper 80-81, Penny zinc 75-76. I recommend you call Garrett and ask for suggestions for your sniper coil.

Yep mine does spot on with the 5x8. Sometimes a surface new penny will ring up like a dime or copper. But yeah you need to call Garrett.

Thanks for your response, I get those same results with the stock coil, so I will contact Garrett next week. thanks.

My readings are usually off in tot lots too. I always dig all my "beeps"..... I think it's from the mineralization in the sand and also possibly from some hardware from the equipment underground to keep it strong and static. The sniper is my coil of choice for tot lots. It gets all those tiny pieces of jewelry, that larger coils could miss.
