AT Gold setting help

Taking the At gold out for the first time tomorrow. Will be hunting primarily for coins. The area I'm hunting has a lot of iron, aluminum, and bottle caps. Any suggestions on settings?

First step is to put out some practice targets and see where they discriminate out and how the Iron Audio works. You probably will find All Metal to be overwhelming unless you can work an area with low trash. You will see how sensitive it is to tiny targets you can barely see. So that is what I would suggest--low trash to start with. That's the best suggestion I can give you. I went to a tot lot and checked all signals with Iron Audio then dug them anyway. About an hour of that you should should start to get a feel for it. Hopefully you have watched the Garrett videos and read the other posts. How much Iron Discrimination is up to you--if you keep it high to start with it will be easier but eventually you will want to lower it depending on the area.

Thanks for the tips. I will definitely be doing a lot of digging!

I would hunt in disc.1 with the iron audio turned on and the disc set at 40. If there is way too much junk iron lying around, you may have to hunt with the iron audio turned off. because aluminum often times will read where gold reads, you might be quite busy. Don't let this discourage you, as hunting for any type of gold is quite time consuming.
