AT Gold Question

I been getting used to the AT Gold and have a question.
Maybe someone can chime in on this one.

I been hunting in Disc1 without Iron and without the iron audio.

Typically, I start without the Iron Audio and listen for a good
repeatable signal amounst all of the trash signals. So ...
I hear what appears to be a good signal amoungsy the trash.

Then I turn on the iron audio and hear what appears to be a
decent signal with a little crackle sound.

I'm deciding to dig or not to dig. I'm thinking ... maybe it's a good
target amoung the trash. Or, I'm thinking ...it's maybe just trash because
I get a slight cracking sound with the iron audio turned on.

Would you pass on the target considering its not a 100% clear
and repeatable without a touch of cracking sound?

or would you did it?

The nice thing about the AT GOLD is that you can really tell
where there is trash in the ground by that cracking sound.

Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?

I would definitely dig those iffy signals. Those are typical of say for example a silver dime is under or directly beside a large rusted nail.Ihave also experienced those signals, finding a penny and nickel together in the same hole. You should be digging those signals anyway, as you are still learning the audio on a new excellent detector.

"REMEMBER, IT COSTS YOU NOTHING BUT YOUR CURIOSITY TO DIG AN IFFY SIGNAL"

Good luck with your new AT Gold. Please continue to keep plugging away with it." Pun intended" :)

I never use iron audio in heavily trashed areas simply because like what John says,an iron target can be next to a good target making you pass it by because of the crackle it is picking up from iron target. However iron audio has its place and is a great feature. Granted, I have dug lots of trash by doing this , but I always dig. I have been using at gold for 6 months and love this machine.

I also love the AT Gold and have used it six months. I would dig that target with out a doubt!! Sounds to me like multiple coins. Would help if I know your TID number, but I would dig it. Good luck with your learning curve. About the time I feel like I know this machine, I find more cool ways to hunt with it. I will be swinging the AT Gold until my arms fall off!! Lol

Looks like the board has some AT GOLD users!

How about the AT GOLD users chiming in on their
hunting style. I assume most of us would be hunting
with DISC 1 if we are looking for the gold.

I'm going to try and get out with mine tonight!
