AT GOLD question....

JOE in MD

New member
OK, I've had the AT GOLD for a good while now and have always used the All Metal mode with the Sens. set at MAX. With this setting the threshold is very erratic. but I get max depth. To get the threshold smooth I have to turn the Sens. down about 3 or 4 notches and I feel I'm loosing depth, but in the Disc. 1 mode and Sens Maxed out the threshold is smooth. Any thoughts on this.

If you turn down the threshold, doesn't it run much smoother? Try ground balancing it with a larger range to see if that helps. If the mineralization is such that you can not run it at full, then back it off the three notches. You shouldn't lose any depth.

Hope this helps......

Agreeing with John here, if you run it wide open (8/:geek: you must lower the threshold a bit to quiet it down some. You won't loose depth that way either. Set thresh to -5 to -9.

Great detector...

The threshold in disc is not a true threshold, if you listen hard you will notice when it detects a target in disc it is a seperate audio signal.
