AT Gold or ACE 250 for my beach trip

silver lining

New member
Can anyone weigh in on this subject? I know the AT Gold is not recommend for beach hunts, but the only other option I have is my ACE 250. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hmmm, you cant ground balance the 250, I'd say reguardless you will only be able to hit the dry sand with the 250 also.

I would take the AT Gold.....

-It can be ground balanced (unlike the ACE)
-Probably better depth
-If you drop the ACE in salt water, it's toast. The AT Gold is water proof
-You can hunt in the rain with the AT Gold
-You have the iron audio on the AT Gold
it should do fine in the dry sand, possibly iffy in the wet sand. Depends on % of salinity.and mineralization.
