AT Gold, one hunt and off to the Garrett Hospital!!

Dadgummit!! Got my new ATG mid-week, assembled it and waited for the weekend. Got 'er out Saturday morning to hunt some exposed lake bed and when I GB'ed it, it went down to about 50 when my ATP is usually around 80. Hmmmmmmm!!!! So off I went and hunting with it was tough, but I found a few things before switching to the ATPro.

This morning I thought I'd go play with the ATGold, just to get more familiar with it. GB shot down to ZERO!! Dangit!! Did a Factory Reset...GB zipped right down to ZERO again. Switched Coils---you guessed it ZERO!!

It now is resting in it's shipping box, going in tomorrow's post to Garland, Tx. Darn it!!

And to add to my grief, When I unplugged my Gray Ghost 'phones from my ATPro this morning, the little plug stayed in the ATP, ripped the wires right out of the plug......Carnsarn it!!! My dealer can't get the plugs anymore so I'm hoping Garrett will put a new plug on my Gray Ghosts....please, please, please!!!

It was just not my weekend to hunt, the detecting gods conspired to put the kibosh on that!!

My ground balance on the AT Pro was between 79-81, my At Gold ground balances at about 33-34:shrug: when I remember :help: to GB it.

Actually I remember to GB but its hard to find a piece of sterile ground:yikes:

I think :garrett: changed the Ground balancing numbering system on the Gold from the Pro.

Sorry to hear of your loss:cry:

Oh no!! Hope this is just an isolated problem and not a "bug" in the design. Sorry for the troubles but at least you have the Pro to hunt with until it gets back. Good luck and I'm sure Garrett will take care of you.

Have you tried this detector multiple times after the detector has sat for several hours? I remember one time with my AT Pro, I had this problem and then the next time that I went to use it, the detector was fine and the problem did not re-occur.

Sorry to here about your weekend.

Just had a call from them and they are awaiting my ATG. They said the GB numbers are a lot different on the Gold than the ATP, had that one figured pretty much. But mine just wouldn't GB on the second run, no matter what I did. They are gonna get right on it when it arrives. Now that's some good service right there!! But Garrett has always been No. 1 in service on all of the machines I've had to send in!! None better in the business, bar none!! I'm sure it will be back in the house in no time flat!!
