AT-Gold on silver coins

I own an at pro and love it but read alot of good things on the golds depth. I was thinking about getting a gold but am curious about how it does on deep silver coins compared to the pro. Hoping someone with both can give some input here. Thanks in advance.

I have never used the ATP. With the ATG there is definitely a reduced response to silver. Gold hits harder than silver. When you add all the features in it does surprizingly well on silver. If you just want it for silver, stay with the ATP.

The AT Gold will give you a little more depth the Pro, however, the Pro has many more features geared to jewelery, coins and relics, plus it can be used in salt water, whereas the AT Gold cannot.

i have ownded both and now own just the gold. what i can tell you from my personal experience is that in my test garden the gold will hit an 8" deep merc in disc1 one bar from full sensitivity with the 8.5x11 that my pro wouldnt sniff in pro zero full sensitivity with the same coil. in all metal the gold is loud and clear on it. maybe its just my soil around here but that is the case. i know john talks about having more adjustments with the pro but i never notch and always ran my pro in pro zero mode. I decided what i wanted to dig and with the gold in disc1 it is just like the pro but i have the added option of all metal plus threshold. i dont live around saltwater so that doesnt matter to me and even though i know some people like to use the notch feature i personally have always felt all it will do is cause me to miss good finds...this is just my personal opinion and the way i like to hunt though...both are great machines for the money and to me it depends on where and how you want to hunt but for me the gold is well worth the extra $100 it costs..
