AT Gold Iron Discrimination above 40

Hi there I am new to this group and just wanted to say hello to everyone and ask a question about the AT Gold.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced their AT Gold Iron Discrimination setting going above 40. Mine goes up to 44.
Not sure if that is normal but I seem to be having a few issues with my new detector like the coil wire giving false readings when it is touched near the coil.

Yes, the iron discrimination on my AT also goes to 44. I suspect this is something they added to the lastest production run. This give you the option to eliminate most of the foil (if it's a big problem) like when you are coin hunting in DISC 1.

As for the coil wire, can't help you. I had mine quite loose and only got falsing very rarely. You might consider attaching it to the shaft with a piece of velco strap to see if it helps. Best to call your dealer.
 
FYI... Talked to Brad at Garrett today and he said that yes, the ATGold Iron Discrimination goes up to 44 now and the ATPro is 40.
