AT depth scale accuracy

spiral

New member
Ok, I know that the depth is calibrated to coin sized objects, but I have noticed that when I'm scanning a target I may get a 4 or 6 inch depth indication on a target. When I go to pinpoint the target, I get a 2 inch depth indication. When I dig the target it seems that it is in the neighborhood of the depth indicated when scanning(4 to 6).Anybody else experience this? How accurate is your depth indication?

I believe generally the 2" means 0 to 2 inches/ 4" means 2 to 4/ "6" means4 to 6 inches and so forth. I do believe that the pinpoint depth is sometimes more accurate. That is just me.

I believe that lasergod is right on the money with that answer that is about what i have seen with mine. I have also found that when in alot of debris the pin point has a hard time.

I do want to add... I have dug 10 inches for a target. A pain for me... I still want a 8 or 9 inch digging tool. The 6incher is not doing it for me! In the parks I try to make a hole as small as possible, Otherwise I would use a shovel.
