Astonished !!

New member
After using a different brand detector, and a Minelab Se Pro for several years I tried an E-Trac....

Astonished might not be a proper explanation of my thoughts after learning a workable setting for my area. I used an E-trac once before for about a day.. Made the error of thinking the Se Pro was better because I was familiar with it and dumped the Etrac after one day.. MY BAD !!

The E-Trac makes many of my prior hunted sights like new places to hunt.. Silver, and other items I must have missed with the prior detectors are now being found.. I'm not talking about places I only hunted once, or even twice. I'm speaking of hunted over, and over places that now produce good finds using the Etrac.. I can only imagine what a CTX 3030 would be able to do if like all says, it's an even better detector... For now I am very, very happy with the Etrac results........ To be blunt they are Astonishing !!

You will have to try it to believe it... :bouncy:

The same thing happened when I got my E-Trac last spring. I found more than twenty silver coins in my favorite local park
that I've hunted many times with my Explorer II. Not all of my sites are like new again, but I can usually find at least one or
two nice old coins or jewelry items that were overlooked by myself and others.

Elton-----Sounds like you are doing GREAT, GREAT with your Etrac!----Finding those settings thru experimenting in/for your area(s) turns ole King Etrac from a dangerous detector into a real monster for deep silver/coppers!---------Del

You won't regret buying an E-Trac. I love mine.

Yes, El.....the etrac I think is far superior to the older Exp. The jury is still out on how much better the ctx is to the etrac. I get a lot of conflicting reports.....I just going to have to buy one....and find out for myself!

The etrac....I think is one of the top 3 machines....made today. In our rough soil here...it does wonders! I cant iimagine how it would do in sand or mild soil.....I going to have to try that too!

Good Luck to you!

I am on the same page . last year was my first year at MD . I bought an att pro and loved it found 48 silver coins with it man was I hooked.bought the etrac over the winter for a 2nd detector, went to a few parks that thought no silver left 27 silver so far this year and had a very late start this year because of bad winter.still love the att pro and will use it on rainy days and in the water but love the depth on the etrac very shocked on the silver its finding me on parks that thought was hunted out.

You probably found everything with the Safari , it's a pretty potent machine in it's own right.
When I bought my 75 I learned that the only way to back up an e-trac is another e-trac I just wish Minelab could put it in a package with less weight.

I experienced that same thing. I took it out to the most hunted lplace I could find just for kicks and could not believe I found 7 mercs, lots of wheats, and a bunch of nickles and tokens in the most hunted spot around here ( not to mention 4 silver rings). I still go down there once in while to kind of check to see if I can find anything else. All these coins were over 6 on the depth meter and I wanted to have a button or switch that would not allow any sounds on any thing not at least 6 inches down. LOL.
