Asian Coin - ID Help

Can anyone get an ID on the Asian coins below? What country, what date range? I tried looking for them on Don's World Coin Gallery but I had no luck. Thanks in advance for the help.

In researching them I discovered that they are worn as some type of good luck / good living symbols ; related to some religious philosophy..Feng shui..or something like that.

Were these bound intricately on a string?
