As the lightining storm rolls in and I am getting out....Gold in the scoop!!

Out on the low tide at 5:30, looking for a lost wedding band out by one of the swim bouy. Up to my chin, weight belt on and a storm moving in, I dug four targets, a sinker, can bottom, and two tabs.....that was it for an hour and a half. Wind picking up and lightning in the distant, I made my way to shore and hit one other target, and this time it's a 7.7g 14k.... Not the one I was looking for,...no argument here, lol. GL ALL

You do plan to return to that same spot don't you ?

Good hunt there and smart move on your part, not worth getting fried !!!!

Lightning capital of the US here in Florida....only takes one bolt and I'm outta there!!

Yep, that was a 5 week long dry spell, May 21, since the last gold was in the scoop. Saved June from being a skunk!!
I just wanted to add that I tried to dig more targets, but could only retrieve those 4 out in the deeper water. Even with 25lbs of added weight it's hard to get sufficient weight and momentum to push the scoop into the sand without floating/pushing up. Also, when your up to your chin and you get a scoop full of sand and no target, the hole is now a little deeper and you have to get that next scoop full with your face underwater.. I know I was chasing some sinkers on a couple, and could tell bottle caps were a few other targets. Hoping for calmer water on the low tide this evening to try again. GL ALL
