I'm posting this because several folks have PM'd me with questions and curiosity about the process. So anybody can see how it works.
I just got my settlement package back from Midwest Refineries, one week from the day that I mailed the stuff off to them. They turned it around quickly as promised and did just as I asked with the gold and silver. I wanted the proceeds from the silver turned into silver bars or coins and then rounded up, to the nearest whole number of ounces...with whatever was needed to make the last ounce deducted from my gold proceeds. And then the rest in a check.
I was surprised to see the Canadian coins when I opened the package...I was expecting 1 ounce bars. But once I saw them I was glad they did the coins, as they are very nice. They're the size of a silver dollar or silver proof coin...nice. They will fill orders like that with what they have available unless you specify "ONLY this or that" and I was open to whatever they had, so that's cool. As can be seen from the report, there were a few rings that were not what they said they were, so they were taken out of the mix. And the gold yield was slightly less than I had calculated, which was expected due to meltdown and marking accuracy. I'm very happy with the service and treatment I got from them and I will definitely be dealing with them again.
