Article - How To Recognize Snakes Part I

Neil,
Where is the respect due a sitting President. You need not like the man, however you must respect his position!
Apparently you were never in the Armed Forces, where you are taught to 'RESPECT THE POSITION IF NOT THE MAN."

Nature is my thing. I read any and everything I can on nature. I taught my scout group out of the army survival manual. I don't fear snakes, but I respect them. The army manual says that a copper head is almost nonpoisonous. A friend of mine got bit on the arm by a copperhead and all he had was a little swelling. He went to the doctor the next day.
Living in Fl. I saw quite a few coral snakes, mostly in pairs. They changed the rules on them. They can strike and bite. I have actually had a rattle snake laying against my legs for warmth. After my grandfather beat it with the back of the shovel, we didn't have to bury it.:goodnight:

Yeah copperheads are less venomous than other pit vipers but they can still cause a world of grief depending on size and what part of the country they are in. Children and the elderly can suffer serious consuquences. They after all are a moccasin, and have little fear of man, so I treat them with respect.

Bill
