Arrowhead found with METAL DETECTOR!!!

I was hunting this small ward ond day. AS I was searching under a BIG pine tree I got this signal.......it said "DIME"...41/2"!!! I thought...Alright! 41/2"...probably SILVER! I carefully pulled out my digging knife after pinpointing and cut about a 4" diameter plug. I try to cut my plug to around the depth of the target, that way...it's either in the bottom of the plug or in the bottom of the hole slightly. Well! When I pulled out the plug....I couldn't believe my eyes!!! There was a PERFECT Indian arrowhead!!! It was laying Flat...centered perfectly in the bottom of the hole?! I had pulled the dirt off of it and left it just laying there clean as a whistle when I pulle dout my plug??? I sat there bewildered and stunned momentarily! I though to myself....a metal detector shouldn't be able to pick up an arrowhead?!?!? I picked up the arrowhead and waved it under my detector.......NOTHIN"!!! Now! I was REALLY confused!? So! I passed the detector back over the hole. The detector sounded off!!! It still said DIME at 4 and a half inches?!?!? I started probeing aroung the edge of the hole......and then I found it! All the way over to the OUTSIDE edge of the hole...standing straight up and down on it's edge....was a 1918 mercury dime!!! Since the dime was standing compleatly on edge, it through off the phase angle and caused it to pinpoint in the wrong place...What's the chance of getting a signal and finding an arrowhead centered perfetly and just layin' there in the bottom of the hole lookin' at ya!!! It's gotta be a one in the million kinda thing! I just know it was so cool! A 2 for 1 Special!!!
Sometimes I have people ask me if you can find arrowheads with a metal detector?

I have to tell them NO.....But!.................................:surprised:

I have never found an arrowhead and I live in an area that was once full of Indians. Love to see a pic.

I found a crystal ball in a hole with a clad quarter. Here is a link, if interested:

I found this Unusual rock digging a deep signal which turned out to be a round deitz highway torch at a old homesite. I think it was some kind of tool because of its size. Someone must have buried them. I also went to md an old school one day. stepped from my car and found a pretty quartz point. Thought I was seeing things. Anytime I not getting good beeps I look around the fiellds and have found several nice arrowheads. Sounds like it was meant to be in your posession. Great story

Neat Find! I had a marble just like that when I was a kid! It was about the size of a quarter. Cool! I like finding marbles. I have a drawer full of them. Everyone of them I found with a penny or a dime! I would get a penny/dime signal and pop up a marble...then a penny or dime? I didn't think much of it at first...but I started finding so many of them...I didn't know if the kids were shooting for money instead of marbles:shrug: or just lost the coin/marble pulling them out of their pockets? Does make one wonder!?!? I have found glass ones, stone ones...even some clay ones? Interesting little trinkets!

Once I went for a satellite service call...as I got out of the van...right at my door something caught my attention laying in the driveway...it wa sa nice arrowhead!? It was a New construction with a gravel drive.....must have been in the gravel they brought in? I guess it doesn't matter where or how you find'em.......just as long as ya find'em!!!

I was out detecting once at a known Indian site. As I was leaving I saw a big squirrel mound. I went over there and sure enough it had pushed up this arrowhead. I found an old bottle once on a gopher mound. My buddy and I call them "nature's archeologist's".
