Arm Rest on MXT Loose

New member
Perhaps this was answered but I couldn't find it in the Search.

I have had my MXT for 1 year now and I love it. The one thing I don't like is that the Arm Rest will wiggle a bit while swinging the detector. I have turned the knobs that tighten it as far as they go but there still is play in the Arm Rest. I can't be the only one with this issue?? LOL

Perhaps if I cut a thin piece of rubber like that from an Inner Tube and lay that in there to take up any slack that would work, but I thought I would check this board out first.

Thanks in advance for what worked for you.

I've had that happen many times and to my dismay, the cuff was breaking in half from the many hours of use. That's one downfall of the White's DFX and MXT......they need to improve on their cuffs. We usually have a spare or two in the truck. Hopefully yours isn't cracking. Your idea sounds like a good one........give it a try, it can't hurt it. Nancy

I had the same problem with mine and it was breaking in half like Nancy's. White's sent me a new cuff to replace the broken one and it was made more durable, but after awhile it to began to wobble. I drilled a hole at the end of the cuff thru the shaft and put a screw in it to prevent it from wobbling. So far it has worked, but Nancy is right, White's need to redesign the cuff. It is a good idea to carry a spare with the bolt. HH Dennis in Idaho

I only used one metal screw. Hope this helps. HH Dennis in Idaho
