Arm cuff on the GT...

GroundScanner

Active member
The arm cuff on my GT is very tight , that i cant even get my arm in w/o force. If i loosen bolts i am afraid of unit is going to fall off shaft .Any one esle have this problem?

Well if you haven't already, ditch the neoprene cover, then if too tight, try to find a generic armcup from another make that will fit, I used an older Sov armcup made from plastic, or I've heard you can, being careful, prise the metal one apart slightly. Good luck.

Okbolt is loosen to wher i have a comfy fit , still a little tight but can handle it and unit wobbling around i am thinking this is not proper.

Neoprene cover off now and fits like a glove but i like the neoprene cover for comfy but hay , i cant have it all but i think it should have been better made to fit with neoprene on . thanks

.
Take the cuffs off, and just bend it out a bit. Those arm cuffs are pretty heavy duty, and once pried open they'll stay there.

Not every ones arms are the same as some may feel it is to tight and some too lose. I think this is why they are made of a heavy metal so they can be bent a little to fit a persons arm. If you are using the control box on the shaft you can not put spacers in it or the control box wont fit right, so I would just bend out the arm cuff a bit on each side and put the arm cover back on and see how it will fit. I have done it to mine and feel it fits just fine now.

Did you have the control box mounting clip on there or are you chest/hip mounting the box? The clip is crimped by the arm cup. That stock arm cup weighs 8.8 ounces, over half a pound! What a pig in weight, so I ditched it for my light weight land rig and used the Whites $10 "heavy duty" arm cup. Much lighter and comes with a strap. You just have to drill out the two rivets holding the two box clip parts together. You don't need the upper one, just the bottom piece the control box clips to. Then rivet that to the shaft along with the arm cup.
