Arizona mineralization?

I've been considering getting a Nautilus DMC2b for its depth ability and the fact that people back east kick major butt in competitions with it.

Question: Does anyone have any idea how it reacts to the soil mineralization found in the Southwest? What detector would you folks recommend for depth in mineralization? I hunt mostly relics but like to find a coin or two also if the opportunity is there.
