:argue:OK HOW ABOUT SOME FEED BACK>> TEJON VS. BANDITO II UMAX:shrug:

Hi Bill

The Tejon is worth more.......maybe.......on the used market. But then again, I would'nt trade my Bandido ll uMax even up for a Tejon, because I know first hand what the Bandit will do in experienced hands. In the right place the Bandit will make finds with the best machines out there, this is my opinionated view.

Hard choice. I had a Bandito II Umax awhile back and sold it...wish I didn't. I have a Tejon now and like it alot. I think for these two it comes down to what features you want. I like the alt discrimination and the ability to adjust the pitch of the tone on the Tejon. I liked the lighter weight and one battery feature of the BII.

The cost of the T is probably more than the B, but you can get a nice used T for $300-325. Don't know what the price of the B is that you are looking at.

Depth wise the T may be deeper. I do like the all metal mode of the T using the 5.75 coil. You can use that mode and then flick the switch to put it into the alt discrim mode to check if the target is iron. Goes very deep and runs very stable with that small coil and its' balanced perfect with it.

For me, the alt discrim feature is something I like using a lot and if I had to pick between the two, I would pick the T.

Much depends on your reasons for purchase, which you don't tell us.
But if money is not the consideration here, then the rule is simple - always go for the most features your money will buy.

With the Tejon you get the upgrades in technology and dual mode discrimination, for very little extra weight. I like to think of it as a next generation 1266X. The Bandido will be cheaper and lighter, but it does not have the raw power or additional features of the Tejon.

Simple choice really - Tejon.

I have the bandido and love it! I have yet to find any silver or old coins with it! But have found quite a bit of gold. I think if I were you I would go ahead and get the Tejon just cause of the better depth. Too bad you can't get both!
( or can you?)
