:detecting::surprised:need some help on this before i jump into the unknown!WHATS THE BEST RELIC AND GOLD SEEKING DETECTOR UNDER $1500.00?I KNOW THERE ARE SOME EXPERTS OUT THERE.THANK YOU GUYS.

W.J. IN TEXAS.

Not sure I am the expert you are looking for, but I'll throw in my 2 cents. Take a look at the MXT. It has a relic and prospecting mode. It is hot on gold and other low conductive targets. I have found some very small pieces of foil that fell in the gold range. It amazed me how small of a target it will pick up. Well balanced and easy to learn and you can pick up a new one for a little over $700. Hope this helps some.

I'm not an expert either....If you want a detector that will sound off on everything Minelab SD or GP series will do just that & go REAL DEEP...Be warned they pick up ALL METAL IN THE GROUND...BOOT TACKS ETC....if you want some discrimination try the MXT, you might want to find some money to pay for batteries:argue::usan:check out the previous Question...

Not an expert either, but in my area (Southern Arizona) the gold is pretty small so most gold hunters use the Gold Bug II or Lobo SuperTraq. Gold Bug is higher frequency and probably a little more sensitive but also has more problems with black iron sand and hot rocks.

In my opinion the LoboST is a better all-around machine because it does have a passable discrimination circuit and the ground tracking is phenomenal. It goes super deep and you must get accustomed to using a nugget scoop because in All Metal mode it will sound off on every miniscule bit of rotten screenwire, tack or #8 shotgun shot. In Discrimination Mode and the Disc set at about 2 or 3 it will weed out most iron but find lots of really deep non-ferrous relics, garbahge and assorted junque. It also has a lifetime warranty and I hear Tesoro is extremely good at honoring it.
