Are You Strictly A Land Hunter, Water Hunter Or Both? Which One Do You Like The Best:shrug:

n/t

One has to spend hours of crawling through the water while water detecting for maybe one good find.
Now understand that is Great Lakes detecting, and not Ocean beach detecting.
When I detected Tybee Island Ocean Beach the returns were much greater. So were the waves LOL

Each season has it's preferences. Winter, of course for obvious reasons is on snow hills, looking for lost coins, jewelry, cameras, cell phones etc. My other choice is NOT to detect, which is just too painful. Spring summer and fall is water/land hunts. The hottest days are preferred to be spent all day in the water. The other days are spent either searching for old silver, coin shooting or relic hunting. I like them all! I don't think I would enjoy just specializing in only one field.

But hunting water.......no mosquitoes, snakes, robbers, quiet time except for the beeps. But, too few beeps makes it boring. Doing both makes a nice balance.

I find a lot more gold n silver rings in the water than I do on land not to mention lots of clad, love this hobby. HH

Hunt both land and water but personally find land hunting a lot more enjoyable and more convenient based on my location.

Im a beach hunter due to medical problems whit my back and knees I can't kneel down so I stay on the beach whit a long handle scoop l envy you guys digging up history,I make do whit what l have and enjoy it to the fullest.:wiggle:

I find that when I get a sore back from detecting fatigue, I like to go in nipple line deep water, where the detector is so much lighter and it takes a lot of strain off my back and other sore muscles. Sometimes I even do deep breathing exercises to really relax out there.

Both, but I LOVE water hunting. My favourite type of water hunting is following Martin around the lake scooping gold he missed.....LOL!

When I can't get in the water, I land hunt. prefer water hunting as it's easier on the old body. Only got 2 hours under my belt detecting so far, but hope this changes soon. GL & HH.
