Are You Missing Small Silvers?

Recently i have been hunting for gold, but have found two small silver pieces of jewelry.
The first was a silver chain, it read 11-12,13 on the e trac, and a small silver cross off of a necklace that also read 11-12.
both are .925 silver.
Talking to Ray-Mo i found that chains with larger links, the detector will pick out single individual links when it reads it.
Anyway, just thought i would pass it on that tiny silver is going to read much lower than dimes.
Lol, No gold yet but sure get a lot of digging in!

Good post. I dig anything with a smooth signal. The first lower silver signal I've found was either a young childs ring or a toe ring that came in at 12-32.

I dig all 12,13,14 signals just for that reason

I think most gold rings come up between 12-05 and 12-18. I have dug thousands of pieces of junk in that range but no gold rings. The one gold ring I dug two years ago with the 305 was an accident. It was next to a pull tab which registered 16, but the ring itself was 8. I know a guy, a fellow dirt digger, who has dug 6 to 8 gold rings including 3 huge class rings, with using a Compadre, an F2, and a Vaquero, but only about that many silver coins as well. I am pretty sure that he just digs more pull tabs and zincolns than I do, probably 1000 per gold item. He has never skipped a zincoln because that is what the class rings register. One time he found a silver bead, light chain looking, necklace with his compadre, that did not even register at all on my etrac in all metal when rubbing it across my coil.

I dig anything close to nickels, searching for gold...I just never get any gold....lol

I am with you...I dig anything (11-14) - (09-35) looking for gold and Silver, but usually just add to the trash pile...

HH,

I,ve found one old small womans10K gold ring at 6"- 7" last sept that I thought would
be a V nick or a buff, it read a solid 12-12 . HH

My machine is hot on silver and cents but gold is tough. Lol That's why I use my Excal for a follow up and its paid off.
