Are we still calling junk rings Rosco's? Monday 4/14

I set out with the intent of hunting until I found 20 quarters. Went to a nearby park and was surprised to see the kids were off for the week there. Also the park was crowded with workers. Went to the first one I saw to ask if I could hunt there today and it turned out he was a corrections officer supervising the convicts cutting grass. Made me pretty happy. Only thing that would have made it better would have been if they were chained together. Nobody cared that I was there except for a few young boys who stayed pretty far away but looked in on me from time to time to see how many gold coins I had found. The place was loaded with trash above and below the grass.

Found a wheat cent really deep, 1944. A railroad tracks flattened cent which was my first! A medical alert bracelet, epilepsy. There is a joke that goes here but I'm not going to make it. Bullet shell. FUBU zip.

Oh yeah and the junkiest ring of all time. There was something attached to it at some time but I couldn't find it. About a size 10, cheap, adjustable band. Definitely a Rosco. Are we still using that term?

Got my 20 quarters even thought I stopped counting and didn't think I had made it.

The flattened coin is a dime not a cent. The reeded edge is still present. What I find so cool about this find is everything that had to happen for it to find its way to me. Started out life as a dime ends up in my brag book. Wonder what happened to it in between.

Lots of clad. Good haul.

See if he answers your question about the rosco. I am sure he is still lurking.

Chris,

Start keeping a pocketful of the chocolates wrapped in gold foil. When you see the "gang" again, throw them in the air and shout "I'm rich!"

I'd eat em before I got to the site.
