Are there any different coils for ace 250?

Bought an ace 250 to take to the beach and was wondering if there are replacement coils for it or if its worth it?Thanks charlie

Couple coils that will do ya fine.
One is the sniper coil. It is a hockey puck sized coil for hunting trashy spots (parks) and near metal poles or posts (think playground equipment.)
I also have the excelerator coil. Pretty big unit to gain some depth and cover a wider swath when hunting big grassy spots.
I bit of searching here will give you a lot of info on both.

It comes with the stock 6.5x9 coil. Garrett also sells a 9x12, which is just like
the 6.5x9 except bigger, and also the 4.5 inch sniper coil, which is a whole
different animal. It's for hunting trashy or busy areas. I think they now also
sell a DD for it.
Some 3rd party companies also make a few big coils. One a DD I think.
I've got all three of the older Garrett coils, but not the DD.
If I were to hit the beach, I would be using the 9x12 most of the time I bet.
2-3 inches more depth, and covers more area per swing. 2nd choice would
be the stock coil.. I doubt I would use the sniper too much at the beach.
Not that I don't like the sniper coil, but that's not really the place for it, with it's
small footprint. Also I doubt the beach would be overly trashy unless a bunch
of tabs are in the sand.
I'd be swinging the 9x12 most likely.
The stock coil you have is no slouch. You should find plenty of goodies.
I still use the stock coil at times, when the 9x12 is just a bit too big to
swing in certain areas like tight brush, close tree trunks, etc.

I bought the 11 x 8.5 DD for my GTI 2500 and loved it. That will be the first additional coil I buy for my ACE 250. On the GTI it was deep and easier to pick out good targets among the trash, and once I got used to it, very easy to PP as well. Supposedly it is better at handling mineralized soil as well, but not sure if it will make a difference in that department with the ACE 250. Just have to try it I guess. I think it is definitely worth the investment if you plan on keeping the machine. Just my opinion.

Thanks everyone for the info.I presume they dont make the sef coil for garrett?I have all 3 sizes for my etrac.Charlie

Kellyco shows an 8x6 sef coil, but I was thinking they used to sell a bigger one for
the ace machines.. But maybe I'm confusing it with the 10x14..

The new 8X6

Yeah!:super:I got that little 6"x8" SEF for my wife to use on her ACE 250 back when it came out for sale at KellyCo. That is one HOT lil' coil!:hot:
My favorite is that 10"x14" Excellerator!:detecting: Best of luck to ya, whichever search coil(s) you decide to get. Happy Hunting!:)
