Are there any bugs?

I hope asking this question is ok.
I know it's early but are there any issues noticed yet? Issues with build or function?
I just recently found out about the Minelab Equinox and really don't need another detector but you know how that is.
My hat is off to you brave fellows jumping right in and getting this new machine.

I seen an ant hill this morning and a few other bugs but not bad for this time of year

I've found it extremely odd that no one has considered that the reason the EQUINOX wasn't released when many of you thought it should be could have been because Minelab and the Field Testers were making sure there weren't any bugs.

No, that was the theory most of us put out for the delay. I find it extremely odd that people are coming here and asking questions about bugs, and making statements of non-support and no supply of parts, ad nauseum.

 I totally agree Jason! HH Randy

I was just asking a legitimate question I thought. I have a minelab ctx, minelab excalibur II, coils etc. Not putting down Minelab at all. But I have had issues with both of these. I'm not being negative, just asking for input. If there are no problems then that's what I'm hoping to here. Just trying to make up my mind whether or not to get an Equinox.

Watching for bugs and reporting any odd behavior would be a small part of what the field testers would be doing. Tom Dankowski actually 'confessed' that the delay from mid-December to the end of January was due to him. He didn't indicate the cause behind the delay as he is under a non-disclosure agreement. I've not seen as to what his participation level is on the Equinox; field tester, engineering consultant or perhaps both.

Yes, my pin-point fuction starts out almost inadudible, then after 2 or 3 seconds gets full volume. Not to mention the headphones were broke out of the box.

I have noticed similar, I have tried to move the coil off of target then apply pinpoint button and sweep back over seems to fix it but im sure it could be addressed with update in future, I also noticed it is very precise ,
too precise to an extent

I think that 'pin point issue' is so it doesnt blast your ears out. To me there are two volumes and tones. Deep and shjallow. If it is right over the target and it is shallow it will start off lower volume and then after about 1-2 seconds as I move the coil it will seemingly double in volume as I move the coil around. Appears to me that it tries to 'lock' on the target but it polite and doesnt want to shout at you!

The depth gauge reads too deep by about 1 "triangle" most of the time, and sometimes doesn't work at all/no reading, especially on deeper targets. Also, the depth gauge on mine was way off, reading 3-4" too deep on coins for a couple hunts until I did I factory reset, which seemed to fix it for now anyway. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but it's the only thing I noticed that seemed not right. Not a major deal, just something I noticed.

I called Minelab about the pinpoint volume, that's normal. Mine's the same way.

You are preaching to the choir as to what Field Testers do. I'd comment further, but I'm under one too. HH Randy
